This specification for ASTM A182 SS Threaded Hex Plugs is a standard that covers forged or rolled alloy and stainless steel pipe flanges, forged fittings, and valves and parts. Typically, these threaded pipe plug dimensions are meant to be used in high-temperature service. After hot working the threaded insert plug, these forgings have to be cooled to a specific temperature prior to heat treatment. This could be performed on the threaded plug din 908 in accordance with certain requirements of the standard such as heat treatment type, austenitizing/solution temperature, cooling media, and quenching. The materials for the Threaded Hex Plug have to conform to the required chemical composition for phosphorus, silicon, carbon, manganese, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, columbium, titanium. The material used in the production of Screwed Hex Plug must conform to the requirements as to mechanical properties for the grade ordered such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, Brinell hardness. All H grades and grade F 63 mentioned in the specification for BS3799 Screwed Forged Hex Plug shall be tested for average grain size.

The SS 310 Threaded Square Plug grades usually contain about 25% chromium and 20% nickel in their alloy. These elements make the Stainless Steel Threaded Square Plug highly resistant to both oxidation and corrosion. Grade 310S Forged Hex Plug is a lower carbon version of the regular SS310. This low carbon version of the Grade 310S BS3799 Screwed Forged Hex Plug is less prone to becoming brittle and developing sensitization in applications. The high chromium and medium nickel content make the Forged Threaded Hex Plug produced in Grade 310S capable of applications in reducing sulfur atmospheres containing H2S or hydrogen sulfide. Therefore, these Threaded Fittings Hex Plug are widely used in moderately carburizing atmospheres, which can be encountered in petrochemical environments.
